Welcome to our Practice
Welcome to Sleep Better Kansas, the specialty dental practice of Paul Harris, DDS.
We serve patients who suffer from sleep apnea, snoring, and other sleep-disordered breathing issues. Our mission is to help patients navigate the confusing world of sleep apnea testing and treatment so they can improve their quality of life. In addition to offering comprehensive sleep apnea treatment, we collaborate with local physicians to treat and manage sleep apnea in patients.
If you’re not too thrilled about traditional CPAP therapy, we offer customized oral appliance therapy (OAT). Oral appliances are small and convenient,
making them a great alternative. You won’t have to worry about feeling claustrophobic, your sleep movement being restricted, noise from a machine, mask leaks, or results of dry nose, mouth, and throat that are common with CPAP. Just sweet, restful sleep.
We invite you to schedule a free consultation to learn about the solutions we can offer you today!
We Can Help You Get A Better Night’s Sleep
Snoring and Obstructive Sleep Apnea: The Not-So-Silent Killers
Snoring is usually considered a nuisance; it robs the snorer (and usually the bed partner) of quality sleep. Snoring is often a sign of something
more serious: Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA). Both snoring and OSA are usually caused by an airway that isn’t as open as it should be, usually from the tongue falling back during sleep. Snoring is often treated (ineffectively) by an elbow to the ribs. OSA is generally treated with the use of a CPAP machine.
Unfortunately, statistics show most people find they cannot tolerate wearing the machine. However, we can make a dental device to prevent the lower jaw from falling back and closing the airway. Most patients find it comfortable, unobtrusive, and easy to wear. Often, medical insurance will pay some or all of the cost of the oral device if there is a diagnosis of sleep apnea from a sleep study.
To find out if you are a candidate for an oral device to treat snoring or sleep apnea, please call our office at 785-456-8527 for a complimentary consultation.
Sleep Apnea Can Affect You and Your Loved Ones
Do any of these sound familiar?
- Sleep: excessive daytime sleepiness, insomnia, nightmares, sleep deprivation, or snoring
- Respiratory: episodes of no breathing, breathing through the mouth, or loud breathing
- Also common: depression, dry mouth, dry throat, fatigue, headache, irritability, mood swings, or weight gain
If so, it’s time to do something about it. Let us help you!

Modern Technologies and Comforts
At Sleep Better Kansas, we strive to create a comfortable, inviting atmosphere where patients feel safe and confident in our care. We offer cozy blankets, neck pillows, and adjustable dental chairs with massage features for your enhanced relaxation. Some modern technologies we use are take-home sleep test monitors and cone-beam x-rays.
Our take-home sleep test monitors are easy to use and convenient for patients who don’t want to do a sleep study at the sleep lab. Take-home sleep testing is also often more affordable than lab-based sleep testing. Home sleep tests monitor your heart rate, breathing patterns, and blood oxygen levels. Your doctor can then prescribe the best therapy for you based on your results.
Cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) is a special x-ray that produces 3-D images of a patient’s teeth, nerve pathways, soft tissues, and bone in a single scan. This technology allows us to visualize the airway and provide an effective treatment tailored to your needs.
